Memorial to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred

Metal Concept participated in the creation of one of Lviv’s most important memorials — the Memorial to the Heroes of the “Heavenly Hundred”. As part of the project, a metal stele made of Corten steel was fabricated, which became a key architectural element of the memorial space.

The structure is made of weather-resistant Corten steel (COR-TEN), which, through a natural patination process, acquires a distinctive deep hue and forms a protective layer that ensures the material’s durability without the need for additional painting. The use of Corten steel made it possible to combine modern architectural aesthetics with the product’s high performance characteristics.

The fabrication of the ceiling required maximum precision at every stage of production—from metal preparation and high-precision cutting to welding, finishing, and installation of the structure. Particular attention was paid to the product’s geometry, the quality of workmanship, and compliance with the architectural design, as the memorial complex is an iconic public space with high standards for every detail.

The completion of this project marked one of the company’s first large-scale projects using Corten steel and demonstrated Metal Concept’s expertise in manufacturing complex architectural steel structures for public spaces. The project marked an important milestone in the company’s history and demonstrated its readiness to work with modern materials, non-standard structural solutions, and projects of significant social and cultural importance.
